​Sponsorship                   

Family reunification is a top immigration priority for the Government of Canada,  Canadian citizens and permanent residents may sponsor spouses or partners, dependent children, parents, grandparents and other close relatives to become permanent residents as Family Class immigrants. 

Who can sponsor a family member
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident (or Registered Indian) at least 18 years old, who resides in Canada.
  • You should not be subject to sponsorship bars in previous sponsorships.
    • Failure to provide financial support to a sponsored family member
    • Defaulted a court order (alimony or child support)
    • Received government financial assistance for reasons other than disability
    • Convicted of an offence of sexual nature, a violent criminal offence, an offence against a family member that results in bodily harm
    • Were previously sponsored as a spouse, common law or conjugal partner and became a Permanent Resident of Canada less than 5 years ago
    • Are in prison
    • Declared bankruptcy and have not been released yet.
  • You should sign an undertaking agreement promising to provide for your spouse or common-law partner’s basic requirements and, if applicable, those of his or her dependent children,
  • You should meet the minimum income (Low Income Cut-Off). This is required to prove that the sponsors can support their family members. The minimum necessary income required for sponsorship changes every year and is identified annually by Statistics Canada. *The ability to meet the income requirements is mandatory unless the sponsor is sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or a dependent child where the child has no dependent children of their own. 

Who can you sponsor?
  • Spouse, common-law or conjugal partner
  • Dependent child
  • Parents: Mother or Father
  • Grandparents: Grandmother or Grandfather
  • Brother or sister, niece or nephew, grandson or grand daughter who is; under 18, orphaned and single
  • A child, under 18 who the sponsor intends to adopt when they come to Canada or overseas


Family Sponsorship Professional Fees  *:
  • Application review (limited to 5 hours) : $800
  • Family class full application package : To be determined after initial consultation

**The fees include professional fees only. It does not include  government application fees, biometrics, disbursements, translation fees, mailing, scanning , photocopying, shipping, medical exam, police certificates or other.  All expenses will be invoiced separately.
