Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

Labour Market Impact Assessments are the first step in obtaining a Work Permit in Canada.
Canadian employers need to get an LMIA before hiring a foreign worker. The purpose of the LMIA is to assess the likely impact of hiring a Temporary Foreign worker on the Canadian Job Market.

A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job.
